Book Lists
As requested, I found a place where we can keep track of what we read (have read) and share it with each other. I just created my account today and haven't had time to play with it much. Let me know once you are one, and we can be friends so we can share our info.

Readers Unite!
According to the AP, one in four adults in the US didn't read a book last year.
The median number of books read per person was four.
I wish they had called me. I could have helped their numbers out a bit.

Happy Lefthanders' Day!
Since there are a few of us lefties here, I wanted to wish you all a great holiday. For the rest of you, you can celebrate being right-handed the other 364 days a year.

Please note...
Since Comcast has bought out Time Warner, my houston.rr.com email addresses are going away. I couldn't get similar ones (at least not similar enough for my taste) at Comcast, so I've changed everything permanently (I hope) to gmail.
Please change your records to reflect the gmail address, and get rid of the rest of them. The rr.com address is being forwarded for a while, but will be going completely away soon.
new address:
rodgers.karen@gmail.com
Thanks!

Home--finally!
We finally got back home tonight after leaving on the 4th to "vacation" in Colorado, North Dakota and Illinois.
We built a deck (and baby sat) in Colorado, packed a Budget truck in North Dakota, unloaded it in Illinois on the 20th/21st and spent an extra day making sure the motor would start on the bass boat. Then, we started home, antiquing and taking our time. We spent a few hours in the Murrell Motel and had dinner and conversation with Max before we all hit the sack.
We drove a total of 5,122 miles--we won't be doing that again! Flying is quicker, easier on the old bod and cheaper!!!

We're taking a vacation???
We are leaving on the 4th, heading for Ellen's house. We'll spend a little more than a week there, building a deck and spoiling the girls, and then head to Ginny's. We'll be helping them move to Kankakee, IL, spending the night on the road in the Twin Cities with Harv's sister-in-law.
Some time after the truck is unloaded, we'll probably going up to Chicago to join Harv's sister and family to celebrate a 4th birthday at the Shedd Aquarium. After that, we plan to head to Bloomington, IN, to visit friends and maybe we'll be able to arrange to see some AL friends.
We probably will be going through OKC on the way home and can see Julie, etc., Max and Jim. I'm pretty sure F, M, D, and T will still be in Nashville at the Bridge thing-y.
Eventually, we'll be heading back to AZ but who knows when? I figure we'll be exhausted from the building, moving, traveling, etc., so we'll have to come home to rest up.
We won't be gone long enough for it to have cooled down, though. With luck monsoon will have arrived by the time we get back, though. We could use a little of that TX/OK/KS rain!

HI
Hi !!!
My sister (she said she's my favorite!!!) got me here (she says "via Jason".). I never could do it before.
Aren't you impressed???
Now what.
Those were some pretty flowers, but why the weeds??? I can do that.
The kid needed his face washed, but I guess it was cute.
The old man with the toy-----what can I say????? ?????
The old lady says there were comments on my birthday, so now I can go back and read them.
Not much going on these days.

Dream come true
This is Max's long wished for dream car. A long time ago I got hime a toy one cause I never expected to see one sitting on our driveway. After much planning and lots of decisions, he contacted a fellow in the KC, MO area to build this car for him. It arrived here on the 30th. Haven't had a lot of opportunity to drive it yet due to rain. But he's really tickled to have it.

Wildflowers
Last weekend, Jim and I went to visit a friend in Smithville, and I not only actually remembered to take the camera, but to use it as well. Pretty amazing, let me tell you!
The yellows were out in force. With all the rain and the relatively cool weather we have been having, there are myriad varieties of yellow blooming out there. I was very glad I had taken my Claritin, because the yellow ones seem to make me much sicker than any other type of wildflower.
So I took some pictures. Black-eyed Susan, phlox, and some things I don't know the names of.
Oh, and why aren't you guys playing Trivia with us? Forgot the link? Here is it...Trivia here!
Now, on to the pictures. I don't know the name of the flowers in the bottom two pictures - they *are* flowers, even though they are not brightly colored...but I have never seen anything like them before. If any of you know what they are, speak up, please! I think they would dry nicely, but I don't know. I just thought they were pretty. I didn't get any good pictures of the incredible crop of bluebonnets we had this year, because Easter weekend, when we were also in Smithville visiting friends, it was, well, sleeting, and the pictures just didn't come out well. Unfortunate, too, because I have never seen so many gorgeous flowers as were out in central Texas in early April. The next time we were there, they were almost all gone. Oh well, there's always next year!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DOTTY!!
Since I couldn't get far from home this past week, I didn't get a birthday card mailed so this will have to be it. We're wishing you a Happy, Happy Birthday and hope Mother's Day is good, too. Our Mother's Day wishes to Barb, Vicki, Susan and Bobby! And Janice and Charlotte if they're around!
I'm planning to spend the day reading and doing little or nothing. Harv is going to grill steaks for supper. Donna and Bud will come for supper, too. I spent much of today getting the rest of the meal as ready as I could!
Have a good day--love to all!
